Venom is a proposed spin-off film of the Spider-Man film series. It was supposed to be directed by Gary Ross
Plot
The film was to follow up the events of Spider-Man 4 and have Venom be portrayed as the antihero of the film.

Why It Was Cancelled.
- Sony Leaked Spider-Man 4 in Covid-19 2022 Release in May 5 2023 and all of the Spider-Man projects connected with the Sam Raimi trilogy after the failure of Spider-Man 3 and the withdrawal of Sam Raimi.
- The Amazing Spider-Man was going to be made, but with a different cast and director.
Result
- While the Gary Ross adaptation of Venom has since been discontinued, a standalone Venom film has since been revived and is set to kick off a new shared universe that is adjunct to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
- In 2018, A film on Venom was released with a new director, Ruben Fleischer. A sequel is in the works which was directed by Andy Serkis due to Fleischer was unavailable while directing the Uncharted movie adaptation.
