When Jonah: A VeggieTales Movie was about to be released, Big Idea had a plan to make a Bob & Larry movie called The Bob & Larry Movie, there was a plan to release it in the year 2005. It was later scrapped in 2003 due to the fact that Big Idea got bankrupt and animated humans were too complicated at the time it was later replaced with The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything: A VeggieTales Movie which was released in 2008. Plot

The premise was about how Bob the Tomato and Larry the Cucumber met each other for the first time, and how they started VeggieTales all together, and featured human characters, and would have starred a boy named Dexter and Bob and Larry would have been living in his nightstand.

Why It Was Cancelled

  1. Big Idea went bankrupt in mid-2003 from a lawsuit by HiT Entertainment. (as mentioned earlier) [2]
  2. Animated humans have been too complicating at the time when the film was in production.
  3. Big Idea was purchased by Classic Media in 2003 and then DreamWorks in 2012 and was renamed to DreamWorks Classics.

Results

  • The film was replaced with The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything: A VeggieTales Movie.
  • It was announced that Universal is possibly doing another VeggieTales movie, it is currently unknown if it is the Bob & Larry Movie or a new film.
