Trollhunter was a planned remake of the Norwegian dark fantasy horror film of the same name. It was to be directed by Neil Marshall.

Why It Was Cancelled

Andre Overdal, who directed the original film, stated that the most likely reason would be because Marshall was too busy working on Game of Thrones to continue pursuing the project.

Result

The rights have since reverted back to Overdal.
