Star Wars Anthology: Boba Fett was a Star Wars film, planned to be released in April 2018.
The film was planned to be a standalone story about Boba Fett.
Why It Was Cancelled
- Director Josh Trank didn't attend the Star Wars Celebration event at first due to an illness. Disney, Lucasfilm and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy later announced that Trank had left the film over creative differences, but it was later revealed he was fired from the film due to issues surrounding during production of Fantastic Four with his unprofessional and bizarre behavior on set including when reportedly bullying Fantastic Four actress Kate Mara during filming and primarily a lack of communication with the film's producers.
- The film Solo was produced instead, released to the cinemas in the USA on May 25, 2018.
- Elements of this movie were later reworked into the Disney+ series, The Mandalorian.
- Boba Fett will recieve his own Disney+ series, The Book of Boba Fett, in December 2021.
