Star Blazers

Star Blazers is an American science-fiction film, which would have been the American take on the Japanese Anime of the same name (or Space Battleship Yamato in its native country). The film was to be developed by the Walt Disney Company in the mid 90s.

Plot

The film would have been about a crew of misfits (not based on the characters from the original series) on board the Space Battleship Arizona (instead of the Yamato) on a mission to save Earth.

Why It Was Cancelled

1. Michael Eisner left Disney in 2005.
2. The film rights were reverted back to the Japanese.
