Hercules II: The Trojan War or just Hercules II is a cancelled Disney film that was scheduled for a 2001 release. It was supposed to take place sometime after Hercules: The Animated Series. [1]

Plot

Hercules is now living in Athens with Megara and their daughter, Hebe. However, when an old friend named Helen is captured by the evil Paris of Troy, Hercules joins the united Greek army as they head out to war. However, this war will create revelations, and Hercules finds an old friend who eventually goes missing

Why It Was Cancelled

  1. The proposal phase wasn't finished.
  2. John Lasseter took over as head of Disney in 2006 and called off all future direct to video and DVD releases.

Results

  • Due to the proposal phase not being complete, the project was permanently cancelled. This makes Hercules the only Disney Renaissance movie not to get a followup in some form (not counting The Rescuers Down Under which itself is a sequel).
  • Hercules is a stand-alone film.
