Get Happy was a biographical film about Judy Garland that was going to be made by The Weinstein Company with Anne Hathaway attached to star as Judy Garland, but later did not happen.


Plot

The film would have focused on Judy Garland and her career.

Why It Was Cancelled

  1. The Weinstein Company and its division Dimension Films both went out of business on July 16, 2018 following Harvey Weinstein being charged with allegations of sexual assault.
  2. Instead another Judy Garland biopic called Judy was released on September 27, 2019 made with different studios by Pathé and BBC Film and was distributed by Roadside Attractions and with Renée Zellweger as Judy Garland instead which won Renée her second Academy Award, BAFTA, Screen Actors Guild, Golden Globe, London Film Critics Circle, Independent Spirit Award, Critics' Choice Award and British Independent Film Award for Best Actress for her portrayal as Judy Garland and and co-starred Jessie Buckley, Finn Wittrock, Rufus Sewell, Bella Ramsey and Michael Gambon.
