Ferris Bueller 2: Another Day Off

From Cancelled Movies Wiki

Ferris Bueller 2: Another Day Off is a sequel to the 1986 film Ferris Bueller's Day Off. It was going to be directed by John Hughes, with the original cast reprising their roles, but as much older people. [1]

Plot

Ferris, now around 40 years old, is suffering a mid-life crisis. To try to relive his youth, he gets help from Cameron, now his manager, and they take a day off from work.

Why It Was Cancelled

  1. Director John Hughes said that the first movie was "about a singular time in your life" and that this movie would be a lame rehash of events.
  2. John Hughes wasn't a big fan of sequels (despite writing the scripts for both Home Alone 2 and Home Alone 3).
  3. Matthew Broderick, who played the main character wasn't interested in returning for a sequel.
  4. John Hughes died in 2009.

Results

  • It is highly unlikely that there will ever be a sequel now, especially since Matthew Broderick is too old to play the title character again and John Hughes is dead.
  • Ferris Bueller's Day Off is a standalone film.
