In the early to mid-1990s, Tim Burton was hired to direct a sequel to the 1988 film Beetlejuice titled Beetlejuice Goes Hawaiian with Michael Keaton returning as the title character.
The plot is currently unknown.
Why It Was Cancelled
- The writers didn't care for the idea for a Beetlejuice sequel.
- Kevin Smith was sent the script and said "Really? Didn't we have all we had to say with the first one?"
- Beetlejuice Goes Hawaiian was permanently cancelled.
- Beetlejuice is a stand-alone film.
