After the success of Batman & Mr. Freeze: Subzero, Warner Bros. decided to produce a third installment in the direct to video Batman series, titled Batman: Arkham. Boyd Kirkland was hired to write and direct the film. The film would feature the cast from Batman: The Animated Series reprising their roles.
Sometime after the events of Subzero, Batman and Robin fight off escapees from Arkham Asylum.
